The Registered Nurse (RN) — Outpatient Plastic Surgery role is onsite in Fresno, CA, at Athenix Advanced Plastic Surgery. Compensation is $42–$55 per hour. The nurse supports patient care throughout the surgical journey, from pre-operative assessment through recovery and follow-up. The role exists to provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered care and support positive surgical outcomes. The RN assesses patients, coordinates testing and care with surgeons and anesthesia providers, monitors recovery, educates patients and families, documents encounters, and helps the clinical team maintain a safe, compliant environment.

What you'll do

• Perform pre-operative assessments, assist with histories and physicals, and provide post-operative follow-up
• provide treatment, patient education, and ongoing management
• review and sign off on labs, diagnostic tests, medical clearances, and prescriptions in collaboration with the surgeon per clinical guidelines
• coordinate testing with surgeons and anesthesia providers
• support and mentor clinical team members
• oversee post-surgical recovery, wound care, dressing changes, and drain or suture removal
• conduct post-operative phone assessments
• document patient encounters in the EHR
• maintain a safe and compliant clinical environment
• triage emergencies and escalate to the surgeon when necessary
• participate in meetings and quality improvement
• protect confidentiality and maintain licensure and certifications.

Why this role

Requires an accredited RN nursing degree, active California RN license, and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Three to five years of clinical experience and outpatient cosmetic or plastic surgery experience are preferred.
