Job overview
The Grants Accountant role is onsite in Chicago, IL, and is a 40-hour full-time position. Compensation is $62,000–$65,000 per year. BUILD is a Chicago-based youth development, gang intervention, and violence prevention organization serving young people and families, particularly on the city's West Side. Reporting to the Grants Monitor, the accountant supports grant and program financial work while helping improve accounting infrastructure, processes, automation, and best practices. The role works closely with the Grants Monitor and Program Directors and does not supervise staff.
What you'll do
- Support grant accounting and financial bookkeeping
- work with the Grants Monitor and Program Directors
- contribute to accounting infrastructure improvements, process documentation, automation, and best practices
- use accounting principles and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
