Certified Substance Abuse Counselor or Supervisee

The Certified Substance Abuse Counselor or Supervisee role is onsite in Richmond, VA, and part-time. Compensation is $25–$30 per hour. Keys of Life provides substance-use-disorder counseling and support services through its treatment programs. The counselor supports clients through counseling, group services, treatment planning, and recovery-focused education. The role contributes to coordinated, documented care by monitoring client progress, identifying needs and risks, and working with the multidisciplinary treatment team.

What you'll do

• Facilitate substance-use-disorder and psychoeducational groups
• provide individual counseling within professional scope
• maintain a caseload and monitor progress
• complete clinical documentation
• participate in treatment planning and discharge planning
• identify client needs, relapse risks, and community resources
• coordinate care with the treatment team
• support relapse-prevention strategies and recovery goals
• protect confidentiality and follow applicable requirements.

Why this role
