What you'll do
- Perform nuclear medicine exams following protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring a high quality of care.
- Receive, calibrate, log, administer and monitor the decay of radioactive isotopes.
- Provide radiation safety support in the event of a radiation incident/spill.
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
- Record patients' medical information.
- Coordinate patient flow and check the daily list to ensure all exams are complete.
- Inform the patient about the procedure and answer questions.
- Interact and professionally communicate with co-workers, physicians, patients, and family members.
- Maintain all licenses, certifications, and accreditations required as outlined in Job Qualifications.
- Adhere to the facility ICARE values.
- Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.
- Prepare education the patient on discharge instructions.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform technical skills and procedures.
- Be knowledgeable in the handling of radioactive materials.
- Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.
- Properly measure radioactive waste and know how to dispose of it properly in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
