Director of Finance

Job overview

The Director of Finance role is hybrid and based in Baltimore, MD, with a salary range of $130,000–$150,000 per year. The Baltimore Civic Fund provides fiscal sponsorship and financial support for more than 100 City programs and initiatives. The director oversees the organization’s day-to-day fiscal operations, strengthens accounting policies and financial oversight, and supports budgeting, reporting, audits, payroll, and benefits administration. The role helps ensure accurate stewardship of funds and effective collaboration with the Partnerships Team.

What you'll do

• Manage day-to-day financial functions
• improve financial management and oversight
• supervise a part-time bookkeeper and review accounts payable and receivable
• coordinate audits
• develop fiscal reporting and analysis tools
• oversee payroll and assist with benefits administration
• perform month-end close under GAAP, including reconciliations, journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and financial statements
• assist with budgets
• collaborate with the Director of Partnerships
• use accounting and project management systems.
