Data Engineer

Job overview

The Data Engineer role is hybrid, with two onsite days per week in Arlington, VA. Compensation is $45–$48 per hour. The position supports internal business teams and the organization’s data catalog and analytics needs. This role builds and maintains data pipelines, models, automations, and reporting solutions so teams can access reliable, well-documented data for analysis and operational decisions. It also supports data governance and adoption of the data.world catalog.

What you'll do

• Partner with internal business teams to define questions and translate requirements into datasets, automations, and reporting solutions
• design, test, document, and maintain data pipelines, models, and analytics-ready datasets
• lead operational support for the data.world catalog, including metadata standards, documentation, glossary, lineage, ownership, onboarding, and adoption
• develop ETL/ELT processes, transformations, data-quality checks, and workflow automations
• use AI-assisted tools responsibly
• maintain Zapier and Asana automations
• collaborate with data science, analytics, enterprise applications, and business stakeholders
• document technical solutions and processes.
