What you'll do

• Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on nursing process/outcomes of a variety of medical/surgical patients.
• Determine the predictable health status and health needs of patients through interpretation of health data and preventive practice.
• Utilize a systematic approach to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments.
• Formulate a nursing care plan.
• Implement nursing care within the RN’s scope of practice.
• Develop and implement teaching plans for patients.
• Provide education, emotional support and age specific care.
• Provide for the care of multiple patients.
• Evaluate patient responses and outcomes to therapeutic interventions.
• Use critical thinking approach to analyze clinical data.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing.
• Experience in assigned departments required (Med/Surg, Telemetry, PCU).
• Minimum of 3 years experience to work Float Pool.
• Current RN license in Texas or compact license.
• Current AHA or ARC BLS provider required.
• Current AHA or ARC ACLS prover required.
