Job overview

The Event Photographer role is based in Kansas City, MO, with event work throughout the United States. Compensation starts at $25 per hour. DanceBUG hires photographers for its February–June competition season and has been a dance media and event technology provider for nearly 25 years. The photographer captures fast-moving dance performances and transfers and uploads images through DanceBUG’s workflow. The role supports live competition coverage; DanceBUG handles editing, and new photographers receive training before working independently.

What you'll do

• Photograph dance performances under changing stage lighting
• capture sharp, well-timed action images
• work alongside the media team at live competitions
• back up, transfer, and upload images using the company workflow
• attend virtual training and at least two live training events.

Why this role

Requires action-photography experience, availability for regular weekend travel during the season, and specified compatible mirrorless camera equipment. Dance photography experience is not required. Travel is throughout the United States, typically Thursday or Friday through Sunday or Monday.
