Certified Peer Specialist — Assisted Outpatient Treatment Program

The role connects individuals with community resources and support, collaborates with treatment teams, and helps consumers develop wellness and recovery plans.

What you'll do

• Share personal recovery experience
• support self-determination, recovery, self-advocacy, and goal planning
• help individuals identify strengths, objectives, and barriers
• teach wellness management strategies and support self-management plans
• connect consumers with community support groups and services
• educate providers about peer support
• facilitate scheduled trainings and groups
• follow up with people who accessed crisis services
• maintain confidential files and service documentation
• report suspected child abuse to a supervisor.
