Senior Electrical Engineer — Utilities and Central Energy

The Senior Electrical Engineer — Utilities and Central Energy role is onsite in Fargo, ND. Compensation is $125,000–$155,000 per year, and the position is eligible for an annual bonus. The role supports KFI Engineers’ Utilities & Central Energy group, which works on central plants and district energy projects. The engineer leads electrical design and project execution for power distribution and related systems, coordinating with clients, contractors, vendors, and other disciplines. The work supports complex infrastructure projects from design through construction observation, startup, and commissioning.

What you'll do

• Design power distribution systems, including motor feeders and starters
• design medium-voltage and 480-volt systems and building power and lighting systems
• perform power system studies using SKM PTW
• prepare engineering documents and equipment specifications
• review contractor and vendor submittals
• create project plans and schedules
• develop labor and cost estimates
• coordinate with project teams and contractors
• provide construction observation, field support, startup, and commissioning assistance
• support business development through proposals and customer meetings. May serve as project manager when assigned.
