Generator Mechanic / Service Technician

Job overview

The Generator Mechanic / Service Technician works onsite in New Hudson, MI, traveling to customer residences in the surrounding area; compensation is $18–$25 per hour. Generator Supercenter provides energy solutions, including backup power systems. The role maintains customers’ whole-home standby generators so backup power systems remain operational. Through troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and clear service documentation, the technician supports customer reliability and safety.

What you'll do

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain home standby generators
• travel in a company vehicle to customer residences
• communicate with customers about arrival and work performed
• follow technical manuals, diagrams, blueprints, and procedures
• test and troubleshoot automatic transfer switches
• document service electronically and complete paperwork
• follow safety requirements.
