Facilities Associate

Job overview

The Facilities Associate role is onsite in Joliet, IL, and at facilities in the surrounding community. Pay is targeting $21 per hour. The role supports MorningStar Mission’s properties and facilities, helping keep them safe, functional, and well maintained. Working with the Director of Facilities, the associate performs preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs, and upkeep. The work supports the mission’s facilities and the staff, residents, volunteers, and contractors who use them.

What you'll do

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, and general repairs as certified
• complete work orders and emergency maintenance requests
• conduct routine inspections and snow and ice removal
• follow OSHA and other applicable safety standards
• coordinate with staff, volunteers, residents, and contractors
• support facility projects and provide basic instruction to work-therapy participants
• coordinate purchases and service needs and report project updates.

Why this role

Requires general maintenance experience, a valid Illinois driver’s license, and a relationship with Jesus Christ under the ministry’s faith-alignment requirement. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and safely operate a box truck.
