Project Accountant

The Project Accountant role is onsite in Odessa, TX, with compensation of $28.31–$40.12 per hour. The position supports the City of Odessa Finance Department and its project, grant, and contract financial activities. This role monitors budgets and expenditures, maintains project and contract records, and prepares reconciliations and financial reports. Its work helps departments maintain accurate records, meet financial controls and reporting requirements, and support audits.

What you'll do

• Monitor operating and capital budgets, expenditures, revenue activity, and project estimates
• maintain contract and project financial files
• review invoices and purchasing transactions
• track expenditures, encumbrances, reimbursements, and funding sources
• prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports
• assist with budget development, audits, and annual financial reporting.
