What you'll do

• Ensure crew compliance with train orders, signals, operating rules, and safety regulations
• switch railcars and direct car movements to form planned trains
• receive and communicate instructions from dispatchers and the Trainmaster
• record car movements, contents, and destinations
• observe and act on signals
• communicate by radio and hand signals
• inspect trains and equipment and make repairs such as changing knuckles and air-brake hoses.
