The Membership & Visitor Services Assistant role is onsite at the Bay Area Discovery Museum’s Fort Baker campus in Sausalito, CA. Pay is $22.05 per hour, or $23.05 per hour for candidates fluent in English and Spanish. This part-time position averages 16 hours per week, with weekend availability and Monday availability when holiday coverage is needed. The museum provides learning experiences that spark children’s curiosity and build creative problem-solving and STEM knowledge. As a public-facing member of the Membership and Visitor Services team, the assistant welcomes visitors, handles admissions and sales, and shares information about museum programs. The role also supports administrative work and special events to help maintain a positive visitor experience and smooth museum operations.

What you'll do

• Welcome and assist guests
• enforce the code of conduct
• address guest issues and report concerns
• handle cashier duties and admissions opening and closing
• promote and sell memberships, programs, and merchandise
• respond to telephone and email inquiries
• maintain clean admission and ticketing areas
• manage lost and found items, will-call lists, and donation requests
• enter membership sales, fulfill memberships, and restock supplies and merchandise
• participate in safety procedures with trained safety staff.
