The Assistant Town Manager – Strategic Initiatives role is onsite in Hilton Head Island, SC. Compensation is up to $190,000 per year, plus a $750 monthly car allowance. The position works alongside the Town Manager and executive leadership to advance priorities for the Town of Hilton Head Island. The role provides executive leadership for complex initiatives that cross departments and organizations, helping shape policy, solve problems, and move priorities from concept to implementation. It also supports strategic partnerships, technology modernization, and oversight of assigned departments, programs, and professional staff.

What you'll do

• Lead cross-departmental strategic initiatives from concept through implementation
• help shape public policy and strategic direction
• provide executive leadership for economic development, redevelopment, workforce housing, land acquisition, asset and risk management, technology, and special projects
• structure and negotiate partnerships and agreements
• guide technology modernization
• coordinate with departments and external partners
• oversee assigned departments, programs, and staff.
