The Engineer I role is onsite in Pleasanton, CA; compensation is $60,000–$70,000 per year. K&A Power Group provides engineering, design, project management, construction management, and EPC services for power utility and industrial clients, including substation, transmission, distribution, and distributed energy projects. The engineer develops designs and supporting estimates, specifications, surveys, and approvals for utility projects. The work coordinates customers, contractors, utilities, and public agencies to advance projects from feasibility through design and field implementation.

What you'll do

• Determine customer and facility requirements
• prepare feasibility studies, conceptual designs, and preliminary cost estimates
• develop final designs, estimates, and schedules
• prepare equipment and materials specifications and AutoCAD drawings
• support junior engineers through mentorship and job shadowing
• perform field surveys and stakeouts
• obtain permits and government approvals
• coordinate design and work among customers, contractors, trades, utilities, and municipalities
• and conduct surveying, GPS, and mapping activities. The posting requires a relevant engineering degree or equivalent, three or more years of relevant experience, GPS/GIS knowledge, and willingness to travel to construction sites daily.
