The Lead Behavior Therapist, Classroom-Based role is onsite in San Jose, CA. Compensation starts at $26 per hour for one year of minimum experience and may reach $35 per hour with eight or more years of experience. The position supports Autism Living Leisure & Education Nurturing, a Certified Non-Public Agency and Certified Autism Center. The therapist implements positive behavior supports in a classroom setting, helps students communicate and stay engaged, and records program data. Consistent implementation of behavior plans and collaboration through required training support students’ classroom participation and individualized programs.

What you'll do

• Implement positive behavior support techniques in the classroom or school environment
• observe classroom conditions and identify possible adjustments
• use visuals to support task engagement and expectations
• support appropriate communication
• redirect off-task or inappropriate behavior
• facilitate play and social interactions during recess and lunch
• implement behavior intervention plans
• collect qualitative, quantitative, and ABC data as needed
• participate in required training and staff development
• maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention standing and complete annual mandated reporter training.
