The Locomotive Engineer / Conductor position is a full-time, onsite role in Ferndale, WA. Pay is $34–$36 per hour, depending on experience. Working as part of a switching crew, the employee operates locomotive movements, performs switching tasks and inspections, follows operating rules, and completes required logs and reports.

What you'll do

• Operate locomotive and train movements safely
• conduct job briefings
• operate switches and derails
• couple and uncouple rail cars
• manage air hoses and handbrakes
• protect train, track, and equipment
• inspect plant equipment and perform air-brake tests
• complete daily locomotive brake and safety-device checks, logs, and reports
• maintain a clean locomotive
• follow applicable rules and safety procedures.
