The Cook role is onsite in Rhinelander, WI. Compensation is not specified. The position supports the culinary department in a senior living community, preparing meals and maintaining dining and kitchen cleanliness for residents, visitors, and team members. Jaybird Senior Living provides seniors with care and support in a living environment designed to help them enjoy each day with confidence and purpose. This role helps deliver high-quality dining experiences by preparing food to menu and recipe guidelines, assisting with meal service, and maintaining sanitation and food safety. It also supports kitchen operations through inventory and food requisitions when the Culinary Coordinator is absent, and assists culinary and resident assistants as needed.

What you'll do

• Prepare food according to menu and recipe guidelines
• assist with meal service and dining-area upkeep
• wash dishes and clean kitchen and dining spaces
• follow sanitation and food-safety practices and use required PPE
• supervise food requisitions, inventory, and food rotation when the Culinary Coordinator is absent
• assist and oversee Culinary/Resident Assistants with food preparation and dining tasks
• report unsafe conditions, complete work orders, respond to alarms or emergencies, participate in staff meetings and safety activities, and maintain confidentiality.
