Job overview

The HVAC Repair Technician role is onsite in Newport News, VA, supporting the refueling and complex overhaul of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman. Compensation is $52,000–$70,000 per year. The position supports an advanced planning contract for the carrier overhaul. The technician repairs and performs preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC systems, including refrigerant units, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, and chilled-water systems. Reliable system maintenance supports the facility’s production needs and the overhaul work.

What you'll do

• Repair and perform preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC systems
• maintain and troubleshoot refrigerant units, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, and chilled-water systems
• use test equipment and read schematics
• handle refrigerants in accordance with EPA guidelines.

Why this role
