Working as an assistant grower focused on pest control, the technician applies pesticides and biological products, monitors crop pests and diseases, and records treatment activity. Careful application, equipment upkeep, and compliance with safety procedures help protect crops and support greenhouse growing operations.

What you'll do

• Apply pesticides using specified sprayers, injectors, drenching equipment, or other methods
• follow safety protocols including re-entry interval and PPE requirements
• maintain spray equipment
• dispose of pesticides according to rules
• record applications and ensure assigned crops and areas are treated as scheduled
• identify pesticides and target pests
• apply correct pesticide amounts
• scout with pest cards or traps
• complete IPM reports and report infestation trends
• receive, store, coordinate, and apply biological products
• facilitate product trials when requested. May assist with pruning, weeding, and spacing.
