Accounts Payable Specialist

The Accounts Payable Specialist role is onsite in Syracuse, NY, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. Pay is $21–$23 per hour. The role supports the accounting team at River Valley Holdings, a family-owned distribution company serving retail customers across the Northeast.

What you'll do

• Review vendor invoices for documentation and approval
• reconcile price and quantity variances
• assign general ledger account allocations for department overhead expenses
• work with department managers on purchases and approvals
• research invoice and purchase order inquiries with vendors and warehouse teams
• assist with month-end close, accrual tracking, and accounts payable aging review
• and maintain accurate files and documentation. Microsoft Office and Excel proficiency and 10-key entry are required
• three years of accounts payable experience is desired.
