Job overview

The Crisis Responder, Swing or Overnight Shift role is an onsite position at the Boise, ID call center, paying $19.45–$20.31 per hour, plus a 20% differential for hours worked between midnight and 8:00 a.m. Part-time and full-time options are available. Idaho Crisis & Suicide Hotline provides confidential crisis support to Idahoans across the state. The responder provides frontline telephone support to people experiencing behavioral health crises. Through risk assessment, de-escalation, safety planning, referrals, and follow-up, the role helps callers identify immediate support and connect with appropriate community resources.

What you'll do

  • Answer incoming calls promptly
  • conduct telephonic crisis assessments
  • provide crisis intervention and de-escalation
  • develop safety plans and facilitate referrals
  • arrange active rescue and dispatch of emergency medical services or law enforcement when necessary
  • document interactions and interventions
  • collaborate with shift supervisors, team members, and community partners
  • provide follow-up as directed
  • maintain confidentiality and participate in training and clinical supervision.

Why this role

Available shifts are swing, 3:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m., and overnight, 11:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m. The posting requires Idaho residency and three weeks of weekday training, Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
