The Veterinary Cardiologist role is an onsite, full-time position in Ventura, CA; compensation is $330,000–$385,000 per year. The role supports Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group, a 24-hour specialty and emergency referral hospital, and PetVet Care Centers’ mission to provide compassionate care for animals and people. The cardiologist provides veterinary specialty care through patient examinations and work-ups, client education, accurate records, and coordination with hospital staff. The role also contributes to hospital operations by monitoring cases and protocols and working with the Hospital Manager on priorities.

What you'll do

  • Conduct patient exams and medical work-ups
  • communicate with and educate clients
  • maintain medical records
  • prescribe medications and follow controlled-substance protocols
  • promote teamwork and staff efficiency
  • coordinate weekly priorities with the Hospital Manager
  • evaluate hospital protocols from intake through discharge
  • monitor cases and attend daily rounds when possible
  • participate in practice-management updates and training.
