What you'll do

  • Assist veterinarians with veterinary medicine and surgery
  • induce, monitor, and recover pets from anesthesia under a veterinarian’s direction
  • perform dental cleanings and dental radiographs
  • support outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights and providing client education
  • prepare surgical patients and monitor vital signs
  • collect samples and perform in-hospital laboratory testing
  • take and maintain radiographs
  • handle and restrain animals
  • administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments at the veterinarian’s discretion
  • clean and restock clinical areas and maintain equipment
  • communicate with clients and practice team members.
