Job overview

The Generative AI & Retrieval-Augmented Generation Engineer role is remote, with periodic onsite reporting possible based on client and business requirements, supporting a government agency in the Washington, DC metro area. Compensation is $145,000–$180,000 per year. The position is contingent upon contract award and supports secure search of maritime regulatory, policy, legal, and operational information.

What you'll do

• Architect and fine-tune Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines over large maritime regulatory documents
• deploy autonomous AI agents within secure guardrails
• develop prompts, evaluate token efficiency, and integrate secure APIs with GenAI.mil and platform infrastructure.

Why this role
