CNC Setup Machinist — Lathe and Mill

The CNC Setup Machinist — Lathe and Mill role is onsite in Mobile, AL. Pay is $30–$45 per hour. JWC Machine and Fab is a tight-tolerance CNC job shop serving industrial customers. The machinist owns setup and quality from first article through final inspection, producing parts to engineering drawings and specifications. The role supports accurate, efficient machining through setup, inspection, troubleshooting, and documentation.

What you'll do

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills using drawings and job travelers
• change tools and adjust offsets
• perform dimensional checks and inspections
• interpret GD&T, tolerances, and surface-finish requirements
• troubleshoot toolpaths or programming issues
• maintain job records and material traceability
• communicate status and quality concerns
• maintain a safe, organized work area.

Why this role

Requires three or more years running CNC lathes and/or mills and ability to hold ±0.001 inch or tighter. NIMS CNC Turning or Milling credentials are a plus, not required. Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.
