Job overview

The After-School Education and Safety (ASES) Group Leader role is onsite at clubs and school sites in Pauma Valley, CA; the location may change due to business needs. Compensation is $20 per hour. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego aims to help youth achieve academic success, build good character, and make healthy lifestyle choices. The Group Leader provides instruction, tutoring, and engaging academic, enrichment, and recreation activities for youth. The role supports students’ academic, physical, and social development by leading activities, maintaining a safe environment, and providing guidance and positive role modeling.

What you'll do

  • Provide virtual and classroom instruction, assistance, and tutoring
  • lead academic, enrichment, and recreation activities
  • supervise youth and maintain a safe, positive atmosphere
  • develop culturally relevant lesson plans
  • adapt activities for different abilities
  • coordinate and evaluate program activities
  • set up and clean up materials
  • maintain attendance records
  • communicate with families, staff, volunteers, and community partners
  • support safety drills and report safety concerns.
