Digital Genomics Prediction Intern

The Digital Genomics Prediction Intern role is hybrid in Durham, NC, from May 2027 through August 2027, with pay of $20–$45 per hour. The intern supports Syngenta’s Analytics & Data Sciences team and active breeding programs. The role exists to apply computational and phenotyping methods to agricultural research, producing insights that can inform breeding decisions and product development. The internship also provides practical experience in agricultural technology, plant sciences, or graduate research.

What you'll do

• Support phenotyping platform operations, including sensor deployment, image acquisition, and field data collection in greenhouse and field environments
• contribute to image-processing workflows, trait-extraction algorithms, and analytical pipeline optimization
• lead an independent research initiative on phenotyping validation or trait-measurement innovation and present findings to research leadership
• collaborate with plant breeders, agronomists, and data scientists
• maintain experimental records, standard operating procedures, and technical documentation.
