Mental Health Specialist

Job overview

The Mental Health Specialist works onsite in Portland, OR; compensation is $29.44–$30.61 per hour. The role supports the Mental Health component of the Clackamas County Children’s Commission program and reports to the Health Services Manager. The specialist provides observations, consultation, coaching, and coordination to help staff and families address children’s social-emotional and mental health needs. The work also supports compliance with Federal Head Start Performance Standards and Oregon pre-kindergarten regulations.

• Support compliance with Head Start standards
• observe children and classrooms
• provide consultation and strength-based feedback to staff
• share parenting and child-development information
• assess referred children and respond to mental health referrals
• collaborate on individualized child and family support plans
• coordinate services and resources
• provide training and coaching
• maintain accurate Child Plus records.
