Finishing Machine Operator

The Finishing Machine Operator role is onsite in Altavista, VA; compensation is not specified. BGF Industries manufactures advanced materials for aerospace, defense, transportation, industrial, and technical textile applications. The operator sets up and monitors finishing equipment, adjusts processes, and inspects fabric to ensure finished products meet specifications. The role supports production quality and safe, reliable output by recording data, preparing material for shipment, and following operating procedures; available shifts are 2nd shift, 4 p.m.–midnight, and 3rd shift, midnight–8 a.m.

What you'll do

• Set up and operate finishing equipment according to work orders and production specifications
• monitor machine settings, speed, tension, and finish application
• inspect fabric and adjust processes as needed
• enter production and quality data
• collect samples and complete documentation
• wrap, label, and prepare finished material for storage or shipment
• operate batch ovens as required
• report quality, safety, and equipment concerns
• maintain a clean and safe work area
• follow safety, quality, and operating procedures.
