Maintenance Mechanic II

The Maintenance Mechanic II role is onsite in Tampa, FL. Compensation is $19.53 per hour. The role exists to maintain housing authority apartments, buildings, and grounds so units and shared areas remain functional and ready for residents. It contributes by diagnosing maintenance needs, completing repairs and preventive work, preparing vacant units for occupancy, and documenting work orders and inventory.

What you'll do

• Diagnose and address apartment maintenance requests
• repair plumbing fixtures and water lines
• replace electrical components, lights, and fans
• repair appliances and assist with furnace and heater installation
• perform carpentry, flooring, ceiling, painting, and building repairs
• inspect vacant units and prepare them for occupancy
• maintain buildings and grounds
• conduct preventive maintenance
• inspect units and common areas
• create work orders, requisitions, reports, and inventory records.

Why this role

Requires high school graduation or GED and one year of specialized training or experience in a construction or repair trade, or an equivalent combination. A valid Florida driver’s license and valid CDL are specified.
