Interior Design Assistant

The Interior Design Assistant role is onsite in Sarasota, FL, and is part-time. Compensation is not specified. SAWA Design Studio is a full-service design studio working on residential, commercial, and hospitality projects, with services spanning interior and lighting design, architectural integration, styling, furniture procurement, and brand solutions. The assistant supports project design documentation and coordination with the firm’s principals and lead interior designer. The role contributes to project development by preparing visual and technical materials, coordinating construction drawing sets, and helping maintain communication with clients and project partners.

What you'll do

• Work with firm principals and the lead interior designer on design, material and finish selections, documentation, and project management
• prepare 3D concept perspectives, interior elevations, details, finish and furniture plans and specifications
• assist with construction drawing sets
• review samples for compliance with specifications and design intent
• document meeting minutes
• maintain relationships with clients, vendors, contractors, and subcontractors
• help keep the office organized and answer phones.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree in interior design or equivalent and 2+ years of progressive experience. Revit, AutoCAD, Illustrator, Photoshop, and SketchUp skills are required; 3ds Max is a plus. Work samples are requested.
