Afterschool Educator — Nature-Based STEAM

The Afterschool Educator — Nature-Based STEAM role is onsite in South Burlington, VT, serving children ages 5–8 from local schools. Pay is $22–$24 per hour. Kid Logic Learning’s program provides hands-on STEAM experiences, outdoor exploration, creative projects, and play-based learning. The educator creates a supportive learning environment and helps children develop physically, cognitively, socially, emotionally, and creatively. Through observation, collaboration, and guided activities, the role encourages curiosity, problem-solving, creativity, and independence.

What you'll do

• Create a nurturing environment responsive to children’s needs and interests
• build relationships with children, families, and colleagues
• collaborate on play-based learning experiences
• observe and document children’s interests to inform curriculum planning
• support child development
• facilitate outdoor exploration and nature-based STEAM activities
• encourage curiosity, problem-solving, creativity, collaboration, and independence.

Why this role

Afterschool hours are approximately 2:30–5:30 p.m.; full-day coverage opportunities may be available for additional hours or a full-time schedule. Minimum qualification is an associate degree, Vermont Apprenticeship, or 21 related college credits.
