The Custodian role is onsite in Norfolk, VA. Compensation is not specified. The position supports the center and works under the supervision of the Facilities Director and/or Center Director. The custodian maintains a clean, sanitary, and organized center in accordance with agency guidelines, City Health Department regulations, and state licensing standards. Daily and weekly cleaning, supply upkeep, logs, and occasional equipment setup help keep the facility ready for children, staff, and visitors.

What you'll do

• Clean and sanitize toilets, sinks, and water fountains
• vacuum carpets and rugs
• sweep and damp-mop floors
• empty trash
• replenish soap, tissue, and paper towels
• clean glass and remove fingerprints and smudges
• maintain cleaning supplies and the janitor’s closet
• wash trash containers
• clean stockrooms, pantries, storage areas, and crib room floors
• dust the building
• maintain required logs
• assist with setting up and putting away heavy equipment.
