Lead Transmission Line Engineer

The role supports a professional services firm expanding its transmission line engineering practice alongside established distribution and substation teams. As the first member of the transmission line department, the engineer will lead project delivery, establish technical standards and workflows, serve as the primary client contact, and help build the practice as it grows. The work spans engineering design and analysis, coordination with other disciplines, and support for business development.

What you'll do

• Lead transmission line engineering projects from proposal through completion
• oversee design, analysis, and delivery
• serve as the primary client-facing contact for transmission work
• establish technical standards, workflows, and design practices
• perform and review structural, sag/tension, and loading analyses
• prepare and stamp or review construction drawings, plan-profile sheets, and structure spotting as needed
• coordinate with civil, structural, and electrical engineering teams
• provide technical mentorship and oversight as the department grows
• support scoping, proposals, and client presentations
• ensure compliance with NESC, IEEE, and applicable state and utility standards.
