Personal Care Assistant

Job overview

The Personal Care Assistant role is onsite in Slaughter, LA, with a Monday–Friday 9 a.m.–6 p.m. and Saturday–Sunday 8 a.m.–7 p.m. schedule. Pay is $10.50 per hour. AFNB Home Care provides in-home care to seniors and individuals with disabilities across several states. The assistant provides personal care and practical support in clients’ homes, helping maintain their comfort, safety, and well-being. The role also includes companionship, monitoring and reporting changes in condition, documenting care, and traveling to assigned client visits.

What you'll do

• Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing, oral hygiene, and toileting
• offer companionship and emotional support
• assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and feeding as needed
• provide medication reminders and accompany clients to appointments
• monitor and report changes in health and well-being
• maintain a clean, safe environment and use safety equipment properly
• document care according to company and regulatory standards
• travel to patient homes and assigned visits
• complete required in-service training.
