The Staff Scientist - SSRL HAXPES Beamline is an onsite role based in Menlo Park, CA, with an annual salary range of $175,461 - $207,470. This position supports the Materials Science Division at the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Lightsource (SSRL). This role exists to provide scientific and technical leadership for the design, construction, and commissioning of a new HAXPES/PEEM beamline. The incumbent will drive independent research programs and facilitate user support to advance microelectronics and materials science research.

What you'll do

• Provide scientific leadership for the conceptual design, technical development, and commissioning of the HAXPES/PEEM beamline.
• Develop and lead an independent research program in microelectronics and semiconductor materials.
• Establish and grow the user program, providing support for experimental design and data analysis.
• Manage routine beamline operations and ensure safety compliance.

Education

Ph.D.

Experience

Ph.D. in physics, applied physics, materials science, or related discipline, with a minimum of 4 years of post-PhD research experience.
