CNC Lathe Setup Operator

Job overview

The CNC Lathe Setup Operator works onsite in Cary, IL, with compensation of $25–$35 per hour. Durex Industries designs and builds custom thermal components used in critical systems. The operator sets up and adjusts CNC turning centers to produce custom parts from engineering drawings and blueprints. Accurate setup, inspection, troubleshooting, and documentation help maintain close tolerances, production quality, and an effective shop floor.

What you'll do

• Set up conventional and close-tolerance CNC turning centers using blueprints, engineering drawings, and manuals
• load programs, select and install tooling, set offsets, and adjust cutter compensation
• inspect first pieces and perform operational checks with precision measuring instruments
• troubleshoot, optimize speeds and feeds, replace worn tooling, and adjust programs
• document work and mentor CNC operators.
