Forging Die Prep Operator

The Forging Die Prep Operator role is onsite in Bowling Green, KY. Compensation is not specified. The operator cleans, inspects, heats, and sets dies and holders according to setup instructions and production schedules, helping prevent downtime and scrap and support quality parts. The role also coordinates with the Tooling department on die repairs, preventive maintenance, and modifications, while logging die activity as it moves through the plant.

What you'll do

• Clean die holders
• operate die-heating ovens and heat dies to the specified temperature
• use pneumatic tools on holders, clamps, and dies
• follow setup sheets to set dies to the correct recipe
• use overhead cranes and forklifts safely to move dies and holders
• read production schedules to select the correct dies
• check die-holder plugs for cleanliness and connection
• change and set up roll-forge dies
• coordinate with die-prep teammates to reduce changeover time and perform hot swaps when holders are down for repair
• work with Tooling to schedule die repairs, TPMs, and modifications.
