What you'll do

• Assess mental health needs and determine medical necessity and appropriate level of care
• refer people who do not meet inpatient criteria to appropriate resources
• complete initial insurance authorizations for newly admitted patients
• provide provisional DSM diagnoses supported by clinical documentation
• review patient rights, handbooks, informed consent, and required forms with patients and families
• maintain relationships with physicians, allied health professionals, and referral sources
• uphold customer service and organizational ethics standards.
