Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Mechanic role is onsite in Sioux Falls, SD, with a typical schedule of Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. Compensation is $25 per hour. The role supports facility and equipment maintenance at Quanex. The mechanic maintains and repairs plant equipment to support company goals and production targets. The position diagnoses mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, performs preventive maintenance, and helps keep equipment records and work areas safe and orderly.

What you'll do

• Perform planned electrical and mechanical preventive maintenance
• diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment
• read blueprints and schematics
• troubleshoot PLC programs
• maintain equipment records and housekeeping
• communicate repair needs, costs, downtime, and estimated completion
• assist with equipment design and implementation
• occasionally machine, weld, or assemble components.
