Senior Firmware Engineer

Job overview

The Senior Firmware Engineer role is onsite four days per week in Schaumburg, IL, with a stated rate of $55–$60 per hour. The long-term contract supports development of connected consumer products for the client. The engineer develops, deploys, and troubleshoots production firmware across embedded product platforms. The role owns development initiatives and works across firmware and hardware, collaborating with electrical engineering, quality, software teams, and external vendors to deliver and support product releases.

What you'll do

• Develop, deploy, and troubleshoot production firmware
• use Rust, C, and Python for development, testing, automation, and tooling
• debug hardware and firmware issues
• interpret technical documentation
• collaborate across engineering and vendor teams
• support firmware release, update, and manufacturing-test processes.
