Food Service Ambassador

The Food Service Ambassador role is onsite in Smithville, MO; compensation is not specified. The position prepares and oversees in-store food sampling events and hosts the nightly Deli Meal Program. The role reports to the Store Director and supports customer experience and product purchases. The ambassador prepares and presents food samples and items for sale, answers customer questions, and maintains a clean and safe demonstration or food-selling station. Engaging customers and offering samples and related products supports store sales and customer service.

What you'll do

• Greet and assist customers and coworkers
• prepare food for sampling and selling
• learn product locations, recipes, and ingredients to answer questions
• arrange product displays
• load and unload carts
• operate and maintain small appliances
• transport products from coolers, freezers, or shelves to the station
• keep the station clean
• wear sanitary gloves
• heat products to safe temperatures
• follow customer service, health, sanitation, and safety standards
• promote sales through customer engagement, product suggestions, and samples.

Why this role

A food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. The role includes standing and walking for long periods and working in cooler and freezer conditions.
