Staff Accountant, Fenway Sports Group, Part-Time

The Staff Accountant role is onsite in Boston, MA, and is part-time. The hourly rate is $30. The position supports Fenway Sports Group’s corporate entities and works with the corporate Finance & Accounting team and affiliated accounts payable and receivable functions. The accountant manages the full-cycle accounts payable process and supports core accounting work, including cash entries and month-end close. Accurate processing, reconciliations, and reporting help maintain the financial operations of the corporate entities.

What you'll do

• Process vendor invoices with appropriate general-ledger coding and approvals
• match invoices to receiving documentation and resolve discrepancies
• prepare weekly check runs and ad hoc wire payments
• maintain vendor data and collect W-9s
• support 1099 compliance
• respond to vendor inquiries
• reconcile the accounts payable subledger to the general ledger
• review employee expense reports
• prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, especially for cash accounts
• provide ad hoc reporting and analysis.
