The Heat Treat Operator Entry Level position is an onsite role based in Clinton, NY. The starting pay is $21.35 per hour. This role supports the Heat Treat department at Consolidated Precision Products, a facility serving the aircraft and industrial gas turbine industry. The overarching purpose of this role is to perform a variety of tasks necessary for the preparation of parts prior to and subsequent to heat-treating. The operator ensures parts meet customer specifications for dimensional accuracy and hardness by monitoring furnace cycles and performing standardized operational procedures.

What you'll do

• Operate heat treating furnaces using standard heat treating charts.
• Set and regulate temperature controls.
• Visually check parts for foreign matter and position parts on racks.
• Load furnaces and monitor heating cycles to ensure proper temperature and cycle time.
• Answer alarms and clear conditions causing alarms.
• Remove parts from the furnace and immerse them in chemical, water, brine, or oil baths for quenching.
• Read and understand work instructions for staging, loading, and finishing processes.
• Use measuring instruments such as micrometers and dial indicators to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Maintain knowledge of heat-treating methods and properties of metals.
