Substitute Classroom Assistant and Bus Monitor

The Substitute Classroom Assistant and Bus Monitor role is onsite in Robert, LA. Compensation is not specified. The substitute assists classroom staff with developmentally appropriate activities and helps maintain a safe, supportive environment. Depending on site needs, the role may also monitor children on buses, support meal service, sanitize classroom items, and attend required meetings and training.

What you'll do

• Help prepare indoor and outdoor activity spaces
• facilitate developmentally appropriate group and individual activities
• assist teachers in observing children’s strengths and growth areas
• follow lesson plans and classroom schedules
• encourage exploration and social development
• support parental involvement
• sanitize classroom equipment and laundry
• assist with meals as needed
• monitor children on buses, secure age- and weight-appropriate restraints, communicate with families, and assist with emergency evacuation.
