Cybersecurity Analyst, Cyber Network Defense

The Cybersecurity Analyst, Cyber Network Defense role is onsite at Scott Air Force Base, IL, supporting a 24/7 Department of Defense network defense operation. The salary is $95,000–$125,000 per year. The Newberry Group's Public Sector Division provides security and related services to public-sector clients. The role exists to detect, investigate, and help contain threats to customer networks. Analysts examine alerts, logs, network traffic, and intelligence indicators, then communicate findings and incidents to customers and USCYBERCOM in coordination with incident response teams.

What you'll do

• Investigate endpoint, IDS/IPS, NetFlow, and sensor alerts
• analyze logs and correlate evidence for incident investigations
• triage alerts
• monitor DoD and open-source intelligence feeds and integrate indicators of compromise into sensors and SIEMs
• report incidents to customers and USCYBERCOM.

Why this role

Active DoD Secret clearance or higher and DoD 8140 IAT Level II or higher certification are required; CSSP-A certification is required within 180 days of hire. Shifts may not be static and include 7 a.m.–3 p.m., 3 p.m.–11 p.m., and 11 p.m.–7 a.m.
