Senior Design Engineer

Job overview

The Senior Design Engineer role is hybrid in Chicago, IL, with compensation of $125,000–$140,000 per year. The role supports Outform’s retail display programs across consumer electronics, home improvement, food and beverage, fashion, and sporting goods. This engineer leads development from concept through production, translating program requirements into complete engineering releases that balance functionality, manufacturability, cost, safety, assembly, and durability. The work supports timely production and quality outcomes through collaboration with account, project management, production, vendor, and quality teams.

What you'll do

• Produce engineering packs through milestone phases and manage Engineering Change Orders
• create client-facing ISO drawings
• generate detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and accurate bills of materials
• engineer for manufacturability, assembly, cost, safety, and durability
• support prototype builds and first-article inspections
• participate in vendor reviews
• maintain parts lists, quality-control guidelines, and technical specifications
• collaborate with account, project management, and production teams and provide design-for-manufacturability input.
